Registration is open for the ETLFs – Elevated Temperature Landfills webinar, Oct. 21, 1–2 p.m. EDT. Hosted by Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), it is free for ATA members and nonmembers.
The presentation will cover the history and key distinctions between ETLFs and landfill fires, conditions that lead to ETLFs and the sequence of events that follow. It will also cover the warning signs and what to be aware of when these conditions present themselves. Additionally, methods will be explored for when these become out of hand. Following that, it will cover three case studies: Rumpke Landfill, Bridgeton Landfill and Chiquita Canyon Landfill, and how they each became ETLFs.
Greg Anderson, senior technical sales executive, and Alex Nichols, regional sales lead, will present the webinar.
Anderson has more than 25 years of experience dealing with engineers and specifications related to municipal water/wastewater and landfill applications and projects. Initiated the effort through the Geosynthetics Research Institute to establish GRI GM44 specifications for the use of Very Low Permeance Geomembrane Barrier. This product has been used in projects such as Rumpke Landfill in Ohio, Bridgeton Landfill in Missouri, and is currently being implemented at Chiquita Landfill in California.
Nichols been in the geosynthetics industry for 18 years. He began his career as a welding technician for Colorado Lining and progressed to Fabrication Plant Manager and Estimating. Alex has been in sales for more than 10 years and is currently a regional sales lead.
