The Tent Rental Division (TRD) of Advanced Textiles Association (ATA) is offering the Safe Tenting Professional (STP) Certification Program Aug. 26–27, at Classic Tents & Events in Norcross, Ga. This program will bring together all three essential in-person certification courses at a single location.

The new workshop format is designed to provide greater flexibility and affordability for industry professionals pursuing their Level 1 Pole + Frame Tent Installer Certification. Rather than requiring attendees to enroll in a fixed package, participants can now select between one and three courses based on their current experience level and certification progress.

The STP program provides comprehensive education focused on tent installation safety, technical knowledge and industry best practices. The curriculum includes the Essentials of Tent Anchoring, Essentials of Frame Tent Installation and Essentials of Pole Tent Installation.

Each course is structured to provide in-depth instruction on the techniques, tools, materials and safety protocols necessary for safe and effective tent installation. Attendees will participate in both classroom-based learning and hands-on practical exercises, giving them an opportunity to apply concepts in real-world scenarios.

This workshop format allows participants to customize their training experience while continuing to build the knowledge and skills necessary for certification. By bringing multiple courses together in one location, TRD is making it easier for professionals to advance their careers and strengthen safety practices across the industry.

To participate in the program, attendees must first complete and pass the free online Foundations of Safe Tenting course. In addition, individuals enrolling in the Essentials of Frame Tent Installation and Essentials of Pole Tent Installation courses must also complete Essentials of Tent Anchoring before moving into more advanced installation training, ensuring they have a solid understanding of proper anchoring methods.

The workshop includes review materials, classroom instruction, field training and a written examination. Participants who successfully complete the course requirements and pass the written test will receive a certificate that contributes toward their STP certification pathway.

As demand for professionally trained installers continues to grow certification programs such as STP play an increasingly important role in helping companies maintain high standards of safety, consistency and professionalism. Proper installation practices, anchoring techniques and site assessment procedures remain critical components of risk management for tented events of all sizes.

Because enrollment is limited, interested professionals are encouraged to register early at tent.textiles.org/certification-workshop.
