President Donald Trump has paused tariffs on Mexico and Canada for 30 days following conversations with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The president initially signed executive orders imposing 25% tariffs on the two countries on Saturday, Feb. 1, which were expected to go into effect on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
The president also signed an executive order on Feb. 1 issuing a 10% tax on Chinese imports, which went into effect at 12:01 a.m. EST Tuesday, Feb. 4.
