The Tent Rental Division (TRD) is hosting a series of tent professional courses and networking opportunities at Choura Events in Torrance, CA, on February 25–26, 2025. Attendees will enjoy two days of expert-led training, hands-on demonstrations and exclusive networking. The three training opportunities include Essentials of Tent Anchoring Course, Fire Code Tent Anchoring Class and TRD Boot Camp: Training for the Tent Professional.
The Essentials of Tent Anchoring Course will take place Tuesday and is part of the new Safe Tenting Professionals program. This class provides attendees with the knowledge and detailed examples needed to safely anchor various styles and types of tents for a range of applications, and data-driven science essentials for creating optimal tension in tent anchoring. The course is designed through the partnership of Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), American Rental Association (ARA), and Manufacturers and Tent Renters Association (MATRA). The Foundations of Safe Tenting online course is a prerequisite for this offering.
Also taking place on Tuesday[JM1] [MC2] , the Fire Code Tent Anchoring Class is geared toward code enforcement officials, fire marshals, inspectors and those responsible for the plan review, permit and inspection of tent installations. Through classroom and in-person demonstration of tent ballasting/anchoring methods, attendees will learn more about tent ballasting and the various methods available that will provide increased tent safety.
Wednesday will feature the TRD Boot Camp which is designed for many levels of tent professionals, from beginner to intermediate tent installer and manager. Experienced veterans can also take advantage of the opportunity to refresh and expand their expertise. During this full day of training, attendees gain useful knowledge and hands-on experience in a variety of relevant tent subjects. There will also be ample opportunity to socialize with their counterparts from other successful tent rental companies, as well as talk with tent manufacturers and other product-related companies.
There are also social networking opportunities planned, including a Pre-Boot Camp reception, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Aztec Tents.
Registration is separate for each of the three training courses. Jill Newman (jill.newman@textiles.org) can be contacted with any questions or inquiries about sponsorships.
