Tex-Tech Industries Inc., a provider of high-temperature and high-performance specialty materials and coatings based in Kernersville, N.C., has completed the acquisition of Fiber Materials Inc. (FMI) based in Biddeford, Maine, and Woonsocket, R.I., from Spirit AeroSystems Inc.
FMI is a supplier of high-temperature materials and reinforced composites with applications including thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips, and rocket motor throats and nozzles. FMI’s products are installed on critical defense platforms as well as NASA programs such as Stardust, Mars Curiosity, Orion and Mars 2020. The company employs approximately 400 people. The existing senior management team of FMI will continue in their existing roles at FMI.
