Tent OX, Mechanicsburg, Pa., a provider of labor-saving automation for the event rental industry, has acquired The Extractor, a hydraulic stake puller.

The Extractor was originally developed and distributed by Mike Hess, owner of Hess Tent Rental, Manheim, Pa.

The Extractor will be rebranded as OXtractor and integrated into the Tent OX suite of tools. Tent OX has acquired all current inventory and said it has units in stock and ready to ship. Tent OX will provide ongoing support and service to current Extractor owners and will immediately begin marketing and distributing the OXtractor.

Tent OX said the OXtractor is ideal for smaller jobs where the Tent OX system is required.

Tent OX, founded in 2014 by Scott Woodruff, a 30-year veteran of the tent rental industry, focuses on developing automated equipment for the event industry. The company said Woodruff leveraged his experience and resources from his tent rental business to create Tent OX, aiming to reduce crew size, enhance safety and decrease employee turnover.

“The addition of the OXtractor to the Tent OX tool suite will strengthen and grow our customer base in the event industry. This stand-alone tool aligns with our vision of helping event companies save on labor, time and job costing, making it an ideal match for the other tools we have been manufacturing for over 10 years,” said Andy Mattrick, president, Tent OX.
