Seshadri Ramkumar, Ph.D., a professor in the Nonwovens and Advanced Materials Laboratory at Texas Tech University in Labbock, Texas, and Jayalakshmi Textiles were awarded the Intexcon award at the 2024 Intexcon in Ahmedabad, India.
The award was presented to the winners in late October by Rajeev Saxena, the joint secretary of India’s Ministry of Textiles. Arunkrishna Srinivasan, the director of Jayalakshmi Textiles, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
The award ceremony included Ramkumar and Srinivasan along with R. D. Udeshi, former president of polyester chains at Reliance Industries Ltd., P. R. Roy, former group chief executive of textiles at Arvind Mills, Arindam Basu, Ph.D., director general of NITRA, Pragnesh Shah, director of ATIRA, Thulsi Patel, national president of India’s Textile Association, and Ashwin Thakkar, Ph.D., chair of the Ahmedabad unit of India’s Textile Association.
