Sue Thomas Hooks, 95, died Nov. 23, 2025, in Charlotte, N.C.

Hooks and her late husband, Maurice Wayne Hooks, founded Chair and Equipment Rentals in Charlotte in 1958. That business later grew to become Party Reflections, a regional brand with locations across North and South Carolina. Hooks worked alongside her husband in the business for more than 40 years.

Hooks is survived by her children, Daniel W. Hooks and Maurisa H. Beaver; grandchildren, Dallas Hooks (Callie), Brandon Hooks (Macey), Rebekah Lozano (Jesus), Rachel Beaver, James Beaver and Jonathan Beaver; great-grandchildren, Olivia Hooks and Franklin Lozano; siblings, Peggy Cromer, Nancy Short and Jerry Thomas (Nancy); and many nieces and nephews.
