Henry A. Truslow (Hank) of Northumberland, Pa., former chairman and CEO of Sunbury Textile Mills and chairman of the American Textile Manufacturers Institute and the Northern Textile Association, died July 10 after a six-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 86.
In 1962, Truslow began his career in the textile industry with Deering Milliken as a salesman in New York. Over his 18-year career at Milliken, he was the general manager of two divisions.
Afterward, he worked as president of Woodside Mills before joining Sunbury Textile Mills in 1982, where he worked until retirement as chairman and CEO. During this time, Truslow served on the Board of Woolrich Inc. and served as its chairman.
Truslow is survived by his wife, LaVina Brock Truslow; his siblings Nina Carter Truslow McKee, Barbara Auchincloss Truslow Kidder (Jack Tyler Kidder III), Peter Kent Truslow (Kathy Morris), his brother-in-law Richard John Lundgren; his children with first wife Gretchen Smith Truslow (deceased): Henry Adams Truslow IV (Janet Templeton), Martha Baldwin Truslow Lanahan, Benjamin Merrill Truslow (Laura Romano); his step sons: Frank Ed Brock, Ronald Erick Brock (Jennifer Gresh); his grandchildren: Catherine Brevard Truslow, Henry Adams Truslow V, Kevin Patrick Lanahan (Lindsay Michelle), Merrill Elizabeth Lanahan, Peyton Cooper Truslow (Erin Saylor), Corine Elizabeth Brock, Emily Noel Brock, Alec Thomas-Adams Brock; and two great grandchildren: Keane Walker Lanahan, Ruby Quinn Lanahan and many beloved nieces and nephews.
