CORT Events, Chantilly, Va., a furniture rental company for the exhibition and events industry, has announced its top design trends for 2025.

“Modern event design is more than just aesthetics. It’s about creating an environment that achieves objectives that resonate with attendees. Every piece of furniture, every detail and every color plays a role in telling that story,” said Kevin Dana, executive director of marketing and merchandising, CORT Events.

The company provided commentary on the following trends:

Event spaces. “In 2025, event spaces are no longer the rigid layouts of the past, but fluid environments where furniture can be adapted in real time to different activities, from casual networking to focused collaboration. Modular furnishings are essential, enabling planners to seamlessly reconfigure spaces between breakout discussions, workshops and presentations.

“Moreover, events are increasingly adopting well-being-centered designs to support the physical and mental health of attendees. Such designs incorporate calming hues and textures, greenery and spaces designed for both active engagement and quiet recharge.”

“Attendees need a place to relax, recharge, and even catch up on work during events,” Dana said. “Through thoughtful furniture arrangements, areas for focused work or personal downtime can be achieved, providing a sense of enclosure in a semi-private space. These designs allow attendees the flexibility to choose their own adventure and keep up with work and life demands while remaining part of the event’s overall energy.”

Technology. “Technology integration is key, with powered furnishings enabling seamless connectivity for attendees. ‘Invisible technology’ — furniture that integrates digital capabilities without standing out — represents the future of event design. These smart solutions keep attendees connected while maintaining the event’s aesthetic harmony.’

Personalization. “The trend towards personalization is also growing, with brands seeking to reflect their identity in every aspect of an event. From furniture customized with logos to colorful graphics that align with brand values or event themes, personalization is now a core expectation.”

Color. “Color remains a powerful tool in event design, setting the tone for attendee experiences. In 2025, designers are embracing a mix of grounding and vibrant hues to bring depth and elegance.”
