To celebrate the 25th anniversary of membrane fabric Soltis Proof 502, Serge Ferrari held a contest to reward a project using new color Revival Blue, which joins the company’s repertoire of more than 30 colors. The winning project consists of a 1,400-square-foot shade sail installation at Broward College in Davie, Fla., by Hoover Architectural Products. The semiprivate shaded seating area serves as an outdoor classroom or study area.

When staff at Hoover heard about the contest and saw the color, they knew it was perfect for the shade project at the college, as the contest color coordinates with the school’s colors. No drawn-out, complicated selection process needed.

Serge Ferrari did not develop the color in isolation. “With support from Trivantage, we carefully selected a color that embodies the essence of urban renewal, and we’re proud to offer it as part of the new 502 color range,” says Ilse Beterams, managing director of Serge Ferrari North America. The fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester yarns, is GREENGUARD Gold certified and is backed by a 10-year warranty.

The contest opened at Advanced Textiles Expo in October 2023 and was open to entries for about a year.

The winning company received an all-expenses-paid trip for two to France, including a visit to Serge Ferrari’s corporate offices in La Tour-du-Pin.
