World Emblem, a custom emblem and patch manufacturer, held a groundbreaking event Aug. 12 for its new 100,000-square-foot factory in Santiago de Los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic.

World Emblem CEO Randy Carr was present at the ceremony along with Victor “Ito” Bisonó, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic, and Daniel Liranzo, director of the National Free Zone Council.

In June, World Emblem announced that the company is opening a 72,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Houston, set to begin operations in October. The factory is expected to produce up to 500,000 patches per week, creating about 140 U.S. jobs initially.

The company operates more than 4,250 embroidery heads across more than 1 million square feet of production and office space distributed throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Europe. The company manufactures nearly 250 million patches annually, serving industries such as sportswear, uniforms, headwear and promotional apparel.
