The Workforce Development Council, a member group of the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), has launched its new website as a resource for building the textile industry workforce.

The Council is working to find solutions to one of the biggest challenges our members in the textiles industry are facing—finding and keeping skilled employees. This group works to build and train the sewing, fabricating and manufacturing workforce across all segments of the industry.

The new site can be found at textiles.org/WorkforceDevelopment. The site collects all of ATA’s workforce development resources, including sewing information, the ATA Career Center and a video library.

The new Workforce Toolkit includes several tools to help ATA members in their workforce development efforts:

  • A directory of training and certification courses across the country
  • A guide to state and federal government labor and workforce programs
  • Market research from ATA and its industry partners
  • Higher education courses and programs in the textile industry

Training facilities, non-profit organizations, and other related groups can join these efforts by becoming a supporting organization.
